OUR MISSION

Advocate, inform, educate, promote, and improve health outcomes in the minority communities of Cleveland County.

ABOUT THE COUNCIL

The Minority Health Council is composed of community volunteers drawn from the African-American/Minority communities in Cleveland County. The Council is sponsored jointly by the Cleveland County Health Department and the HealthCare Foundation of Cleveland County.

WHAT WE DO

  • Build the council through identification and development of leadership in the various minority communities in Cleveland County.
  • Reach targeted populations through cultural adaptions of materials and programming.
  • Educate the residents of Cleveland County about health disparities that exist in the county and across the state that affect the quality of life for all individuals.

COUNCIL MEETINGS

The Council meets the 2nd Monday of each month at 6:00 P.M. at the Cleveland County Health Department. Members share a light supper prior to each meeting.

Each meeting engages members with information, presentations, group discussions, and community project planning.
